I wanted to play aspenwood and quarry (silly me) and it wouldnt even start
I have better things to do with my time then watch a ticker re-set indefinately

I second that. I think Anet should have some kind of Anti-AFKers. Here is how it should be.
If a person doesnt MOVE/Cast a spell/Attack/ basicly anything for 5 mins, While in a PvP enviroment, they are kicked, not ofline, just like to a town near by.
Im sorry, but that would rock! And if that does happend, at least Replace them with a Henchmen. So its not 2v10, lol.(alots of AFKers...)
Who els thinks that would help alot?
PS/Edit- Sweetest, your getting alot of love

1st off, STOP FEEDING THE TROLL!! 2nd, Alliance battles outpace all faction earning methods if won even 50% of the time.

Ok i just tried the luxon supply mission. This can be done with henchies no problem. Be a warrior/mo or ranger/mo Warrior skills r sprint/charge/ a distrupt skill/ dmg skill/ dmg skil/ healing/ healing/healing. Run to the supply master with the henchies by u. If they die dont worry. After u get to supply guy drop ur box and run backwards into a mob of guys. Not bringing them to the supply guy. Die. Spawn right next to the supply master with the henchies and kill the 2 guys fighting him. Pick of the supplies and get ur reward. This run takes about 3minutes to 4 minutes to do. Enjoy it.

create several new character have them, progress through the game, and then u only have to gather less (for each character) (since all caracters, share the faction), when u reach 10k claim , all other newly created characters can skip to egg snatcher quest imediatly, then u "use" the 10 k faction (whether its redeming or donating)and replenishing it by doing quest thats still availble on another character, since the characters can now, do both the quests after (which give better faction reward) and before .
and as an added bonus
when u reach the divine path , sell the extra characters amulet for xx platinum, delete the character & redo -making both faction and platinum
time consuming yes, but once the infrastructure is there, its not that hard to do.
create heal monks for shortage time, since monks are in demand and easily gets invited

my guildie can do the supply run solo with his ranger jus takes a little bit longer
and i dont think AB outperforms FA on faction earning.. AB battles last a good 20 mins? for 750 Faction. FA can be won in prob 7-10 minutes getting you 600 faction and even if u lose your gauranteed about 300 where in AB you can get anywhere between 1 and 499, except if u lose @ FA it takes a lot longer so personally i stick with FA for my faction earning

okay, afker enters, casts mending, go afk again, after 5 mins they look in and cast mending again and go afk. ive been spending a lot of time in aspenwood, talking with people there about possible solutions, and there really is only one.
ANET bans EVERY single afker AND leecher that hangs around there. 2-3 reports should be enough to ban them, maybe that will teach them a lesson. -_- or some kind of penetration, i dunno really.
sweetest; congratulations on acting like a braindead child.

The supply run is still doable as solo; jus is not the walk in the park it was before. If you can pull a team together it is still a walk in the park (or a brisk jog I guess).
I got my warrior/mes pretty well refined (hex breaker for the Zoom Zoom Zoom). The bad part is that it takes about 10 minutes solo (at least that is what I refined it to after a few tweaks on the build). The 2 heal/smite critters at the end made it interesting to balance run and kill power. I enjoyed the challenge of overcoming the fix/nerf/update, but have moved onto quicker avenues.
